Can I tell you how much easier it was to write this post than any of the other ones I've ever written? Okay, mostly it's due to the fact that this post has about a million more pictures than most of my other posts.
hmmmm...I'm trying to think what else should be included in this post. Most of the time people tell you about what the baby could do at this stage, but I'd like to think that was pretty obvious. She was great at sleeping, dirty diapers, and eating. That is pretty much what each and every day consisted of.
Now, I on the other hand learned some things.
- When your milk comes in (typically a few days after birth) it feels like a brick in a purse. -(Hopefully women get that. I'm not going to explain further on my bad analogy.)
- Sleep deprevation is HORRIBLE. Serentiy slept about 4 hours each break, but that included 1 hour of eating. So by the time I finally got to sleep I had about 3 hours before she'd wake up wanting to eat again. Oy!
- It's tough to adjust to being a mom/parent and still do all of the other stuff you once did (or at least it has been for me). When your baby is asleep you should either be sleeping too or get stuff done you're worried about. Otherwise by the time you get to either option A or B your baby will be back awake needing your attention.
- Baby clothes shopping is an emotional thing for girls. Not so much for guys. It made me FEEL good when I found clothes for her (at a price I was willing to pay). Logically it didn't make sense to Fielding. That baby was only going to wear those clothes once.
-And yes, that is true too. It's not worth getting too many baby clothes because they will outgrow them pretty quickly. Better to invest in clothes they'll wear for a longer timeframe. And yes, I've found some cute ones and inherited others. =) - Babies can get their ears pierced at 2 months. It's pretty expensive though. $50 easily. I waited until this month to get them pierced.
Whether people think it's right or wrong -Yes, Serenity cried. (I have it on video.) She was done crying though by the time I had her buckled into her carseat. Unlike the toddler who'd gone before and was still crying as they left the mall. Just saying.
Grandma & Grandpa Roe came to visit.
Grandma Pratt came to visit too, but Granpa was sick so he waited in the car.
The pediatrician was impressed by how white she was. No jaundice.
She kept her hands close to her mouth, but wasn't interested in chewing on her hands.
Day 1 -Dad's Test is over.
Someone told him babies 'learned' how to yawn from others yawning in front of them.
He'd banned everyone from yawning in front of her.
Apparently it's naturally known.
Oh, look she's just like her daddy (though she looks like me).
She had this cute little hat with ears. Unfortunately I didn't have a flash on my phone.
She was good at sleeping.
I don't know who didn't laugh at how big she could open her mouth.
It was pretty impressive and frightening. She was like a little vampire.
This is the first day Mommy and Serenity were on there own.
Needless to say there was a whole lot of sitting around. Not because there wasn't stuff to do, but more so because I was afraid to leave her alone. She might fall or wakeup or cry.
She obviously was just fine. Mom was just being paranoid.
Lunch out with Joan. Serenity was great through lunch, the tour of her old employees, but when she woke up...She was hungry and she let me know it.
Look at that brow.
See look...perfectly content when she wasn't hungry.
Pictures were a different matter.
She didn't want to lay down. She wanted to look at stuff.
So we propped her up and bam! Perfect pic.
First St. Patrick's Day
-For Kateka. She obviously needed to work her angles better.
Cute enough for Kelly Price to snap a few shots.
