Some women are lucky enough to stay home with their children, while some women are lucky enough to go back to work. And yes, there are even a few others who are lucky enough to do both. I have never been the type that wanted to stay home with my kids. Not because I don't love them or because I can't. I simply know myself. I know that I am happier (literally in the medical sense) when I have something outside of the house that requires my attention.
So 6 weeks after delivery it was time for me to go back to work.
Before I got pregnant, I had a couple of plans in place for when I went back to work. A sibling, a home teacher, daycare. Yes, I was ready. Well over the course of nine months of pregnancy all of my plans began to slowly fall apart. There was a divorce, a decision to move, and a cost I had not anticipated. Oy!
That was pretty much the beginning of the end and put me in a mad dash to get things figured out. I mean it's really unacceptable to A) take your child with you to work B) leave your child unattended while you go to work.
Thankfully, I have some other amazing siblings who were willing to step up and help me out. I don't know that I could have made it through the first couple of months without their help. They ROCK!
Especially Kelli, She has a son two DAYS older than Serenity and a rambuncious two year old.
She watched her A LOT and I love her for it. She was basically superwoman! AMAZING!
I'm considering nominating her for twin certification because that's basically what she did.
Oh, did I mention that her husband was out of town for work stuff during this too? Yeah, Amazing.
Serenity was such a great sleeper. I was also lucky enough to have great friends who helped out when needed. This day she was hanging out with Leo (original, and the bink) and Megan. They stopped by Mandi's work to say hello and Mandi sent me this pic.
She was asleep so I decided to get some pics. =)
Sleeping babies always look the sweetest. I love her cute little bow of a mouth.
Philippino cool.
Lol. Trying on accessories in Target. One day she'll own something this loud.
Finally a smile. =)
Oh, I can not even tell you what MAGIC this swing has been in our lives.
She would just fall asleep within minutes in Kelli's swing so we had to go get our own. It has saved us many times since. Rocks her right to sleep.
Just not in these pics. ;)
Okay, so I had a wild hair this day (still don't quite know what that phrase means). Anyhow, I decided that Serenity needed to try to wear a wrap....so I wrapped a scarf on her head. Lol.
Fielding couldn't believe it and thought it looked terrible...
then she screamed and he decided it looked amazing, but only when she was screaming. Somehow it seemed more appropriate when she was screaming.
I'm sure one day I'll hear all about the leopard print scarf head wrap.
I'll just tell her I was vibing with Chiquita or Carmen Miran.
(The lady who made that iconic.)
Kelli, and pretty much everyone, was amazed at just how BIG Serenity's mouth was. So I tried to catch a picture of it at it's apex. It was tricky, but I got some funny pics. =)
This one needs some crazy caption attached to it. It reminds me of the kid in the military outfit.
AHHHH!
Comparative. She can practically fit her whole fist in her mouth.
Apparently she thought it was funny.
This is a series of pictures when she gets hungry or you take her food away. If you have a weak stomach or heart condition you may not want to scroll down.
Just remember I warned you.
Took the food away....
It's sinking in.
It's beginning...
RUN!!!
My brother, Josh, thinks this should be at the end of a scary movie.
SO sad.
And just to prove she's not always smiles.

Hahahahahaha! Oh my word. That mouth. You can't have a smile as bright and happy as hers without a mouth that big (the one thing I've been complimented on my entire life is my smile and my mouth is GIGANTIC).
